If you have an Elf on the Shelf that visits your home each December, you can sit back and relax for the first two weeks because we have the most epic hack for you.
My kids love our elves, Snowflake and Jingles. But me? Not so much. It’s a tradition they love that I wish I never started. Not in a bad way, I just keep forgetting to move the little buggers. Then, of course, I started these extravagant scenes, outdoing myself each night. And well, once you start, you just can’t stop.
However, this year, thanks to a crafty Canadian mum who shared her genius Elf on the Shelf idea, I can go to bed until December 14 without having to drag my tired little butt back down the stairs.
Based in Newfoundland, crafter Moonlight Creations shared photos of her isolation house complete with miniature elf mask on her social channels, and parents are going wild for them since.

I know, it’s genius, right?
"Elf on the Shelf isolation house! Those little guys need to isolate too. Countdown the days on the chalkboard side panels. Comes with an Elf sized face mask," the post reads.
Unfortunately, they don’t ship and only sell locally, which is a huge bummer, but they have confirmed they used a 1.25-litre mason jar, so us folks across the pond could easily recreate it ourselves.
I don’t know about you, but I’m off to buy a glass jar and a box of glitter, and I can guarantee you I’m not the only one using this Elf on the Shelf idea either.
