The 35-year-old reality tv star and mum-of-one opened up about being a child of co-parenting and being a co-parent herself.
No matter who you are, it's safe to say that parents want one simple thing - to do a good job in raising their kids.
This can get complicated in a blended household. Co-parenting is not always easy, and depending on the circumstances that led to the breakdown of the relationship, it can be downright difficult.
Khloe Kardashian has recently opened up about exactly this in a bonus clip from KUWTK. Appearing on an episode of her friend Laura Wesser's podcast, Divorce Sucks!, Khloe revealed why she feels it's so important to keep things friendly with her ex.
When asked what age she was when her parents Kris Jenner and Robert Kardashian divorced, Khloe answered:
"I was about four or five... I'm sure now that I've gone through it myself, trying to co-parent, that they were seamless with it. I never, ever heard my parents talk disrespectfully about the other one."
This positive co-parenting experience is clearly reflected in how she chooses to co-parent her own daughter, True, with her ex-partner Tristan Thompson.
She said,
"For me, True is one and like a month old. She doesn't really know what's happening. But to me, she does know and she feels energy and I'm a big believer in that."
"I do everything in my power to not put any sort of heavy energy around her."
This is a hugely important part of creating a positive co-parenting experience for your children. According to verywellfamily.com, one of the signs of healthy co-parenting is that kids believe their parents get along well.
Khloe continued:
"My parents were so good at not letting us feel whatever they were going through. I want to give [True] the same thing."
"I know her dad is a great person - I know how much he loves her and cares about her so I want him to be there."
While of course this can't be possible for all parents in co-parenting situations, it is wonderful to see an example of co-operative and positive co-parenting in the media today. Go Khloe!
