Winter is well and truly here, and with it being SO COLD outside these days, you're going to want to spend more time indoors than you previously might have imagined.

Luckily, for those of us looking forward to curling up on the sofa in front of a roaring fire, there are so many new movies hitting our screens that we'll be settling down to watch this weekend.

And if you've already had your fill of Christmas movies for 2020 already, don't worry. None of our picks below are too festive - but they are guaranteed to keep you entertained.

The Prom (Netflix)

First up, it's the musical movie of the year with Netflix's The Prom. With an all-star cast including Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, Andrew Rannells, Kerry Washington, and James Corden it's one of the most feelgood movies of the year. The story revolves around a young high school student who is not allowed to go to her prom with her girlfriend, which makes Streep and her fellow Broadway singers attempt to take a stand and overthrow the school's decision.

Wolfwalkers (Apple TV+)

The number one Irish film in cinemas this December will make its on-demand debut this weekend on Apple TV+. The animation is the latest creation from Irish film studio Cartoon Saloon, who have made The Secret of Kells and Song of the Sea in the past. Garnering praise right across the board, Wolfwalkers is a certain win for all of the family this weekend.

Little Women (Sky Cinema and NOW TV)

In case you missed it in cinemas last year, the newest interpretation of Louisa May Alcott's novel has that festive feel without being overly festive. And there's a hell of a lot of drama to unfold too. Starring our own Saoirse Ronan, as well as Florence Pugh, Timothee Chalamet, and Emma Watson, Little Women will have you laughing, crying, and make you want to rewatch the 1994 version right afterwards.

I'm Your Woman (Amazon Prime)

If drama and thrillers are what you're in the mood for these days, then give your time over to Amazon Prime's I'm Your Woman. Starring and produced by Rachel Brosnahan, who you'll know from The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, she plays a badass mom on the run as she attempts to evade her husband's criminal past. All about motherhood, family, empowerment, and personal transformation, it'll make for a stirring watch.

Safety (Disney+)

Inspired by a true story, Safety is one of those classic Disney feelgood movies that the whole family will enjoy. The tale of American football player Ray McElrathbey inspired many people across America and the world in the early 2000s, so much so that he even appeared on Oprah. A truly inspiring story about juggling family life while also attending college and creating your own path in life, it is sure to give you all of the feels with Disney's newest sports drama.
