A bride typically wears a veil down the aisle to complete a wedding outfit. However, Dalton Mort decided to change things up a little by wearing her daughter Ellie, capturing the hearts of the nation as the images go viral.
The breathtaking wedding photo's taken back in July capture the special and creative moments between the trio, Dalton, Ellie and her dad, Jimmy Joe making it a ceremony to remember.
In a unique twist of a bride putting on her veil, the photographer even managed to capture the moment Dalton's mum helped place Ellie in her wrap before she made her way up the aisle.
Dalton wanted her only child to be a big part of her wedding day and rather than having a relative look after her, she decided to wear her two-year-old instead.
When wedding and portrait photographer Laura Schaefer of Fire and Gold Photography asked Dalton if she would be wearing a veil on her wedding day last summer she replied "No, I'll be wearing Ellie," Schaefer says in a blog post as she revisits the magical moments of the viral wedding pictures.
Not only did the bride Dalton wear her baby throughout the ceremony, but she also nursed her two-year-old daughter into a peaceful sleep during the mass readings.
"The Nuptial Mass was beautiful! Dalton wore Ellie down the aisle and nursed her to sleep during the readings. And then Ellie slept through the WHOLE Mass!"
"Dalton held her in her arms, asleep, as Jimmy Joe and she said their vows to one another. It was picture perfect!" the photographer continues.
The babywearing bride told POPSUGAR she wore Ellie, christened Ellora for a couple of reasons.
"We really wanted her to be involved in the ceremony because we felt marriage is a commitment to our family as much as our own relationship."
"Also, realistically, it just was easier to wear her. We knew the mass was going to be at least 45 minutes and was smack in the middle of naptime. She was going to need Momma, and I didn't want to be worried about her. She actually fell asleep about 20 minutes in."
Looking back on her wedding day she said she wouldn't change a thing.
"I wouldn't have had it any other way," she said.
"There is no better behaved toddler then a sleeping toddler, and she was still involved, even though I ended up unwrapping her to nurse her. I held her in my arms while my husband and I said our vows. It was really special for us."
The bride's stunning shimmery wrap is currently sold out since the images were posted online, however, the store hopes to restock it soon. The beautiful pink and blue fade wrap with rippling golden tones is a Nouvelle Molly Baby Wrap from Oscha Slings.
