The loose square blocks can get grubby pretty quick and with a house of small children, sickness spreads fast.

We have a house filled with Lego, from starter kits to Lake Shore City beach houses and, of course, Duplo for the smaller ones. And if I was to be completely honest a few years back I hated the stuff, it was the bane of my life.

However, now, it sits across our kitchen table most days because my kids play with it so much and some days we even eat dinner around it. Not ideal, I know but some days I just don't have the energy left in me for fighting to remove it. What if it broke? The tears would be non stop and of course, it would be all my fault. Like always.
That said, you can imagine the loose square blocks can get grubby pretty quick and with a house of small children, sickness spreads like you don't know what. That's why this handy little hack is absolutely genius.
Simply place all your grubby and sticky Lego pieces into a large laundry bag and plop them into the washing machine, placing your washing machine on a low cycle or an eco-friendly quick wash along with a pod or small amount of washing powder.

Once the cycle is complete you simply lay them out to dry which in some cases may take a day depending on how much Lego you have or if the kids are in a hurry and want to play with them sooner just grab a hairdryer and blast them back to life.
Since this little hack went viral parents across the world have been trying it which huge success including myself, some even noted the top rack in a dishwasher works a charm too and as an added bonus it dries the Lego so there is no waiting around once the cycle is complete.
It's brilliant, isn't it? Have you tried it? Or have you another little hack to share that might just blow our minds?
And of course, it should be noted that when doing this little Lego cleaning hack it is strongly advised to leave out any electric Lego parts, parts with batteries or tyres from their little Lego cars.
