Gardaí have sealed off two scenes after a woman gave birth on the corner of Linenhall Street and North King Street.
According to the Irish Independent, Gardaí are looking into the circumstances surrounding a woman giving birth on the street in Dublin in the early hours of this morning.
It was reported that the woman went into labour on the street at around 1am, and people passing by rushed to her aid, giving her pieces of clothing and scarves.
A witness said, “I saw a lady who was very distressed and people running to her. There were four people who crossed the road to her, and a man in a car stopped too.”
The woman was apparently extremely distressed - after giving birth, she walked down the street with her baby to Inns Quay.
The same source reported that people were watching her walk away with their hands on their heads in stress, while another was on the phone.
Thankfully, a passer-by followed her and directed an ambulance to her whereabouts. She was picked up by paramedics and brought to the nearest hospital, where mother and baby were treated.
Mum and baby are reportedly doing well.
The Gardaí have now sealed off the two scenes - one where she gave birth and the other where she was picked up by the ambulance - in order to gather all the facts about the incident.
We at FFHQ hope that mum and baby do well.
