Here are a few tips on how to deal with it.
Kids are notoriously difficult when it comes to choosing clothes and when they do finally pick out a few bits they decide they hate them! Kids will test your nerves and especially if you have a special occasion coming up it can be rather frustrating to say the least. As parents here at Family Friendly HQ we understand the struggles and have put together some tips to help though in some cases there is absolutely no talking to your kid who has other ideas!
The clothes are too tight- Once the kids are back at school they may complain about the uniform feeling too tight. Basically, the uniform is new and it may be that the shirts are a little hard but come on they are not too tight! Your child will complain and some will cry about it even. What can you do to help? Reassure your kiddie that the clothes are perfectly suitable and that they are new. If your child continues to moan, consider “loosening” their clothes in front of them. It might work or it may not!
They are too loose- Too tight or too loose a youngster is never happy and if they are genuinely too loose, you can always have them taken in or tie a band around shirt or trousers to tighten them in! Sure, this may not please your kids but it must be worth a shot to ebb the steady flow of moans.
I don’t like the colour- Colours of clothes are what they are and if your child decides they don’t like it, there is very little you can do. But in some cases, you can dye clothes if you really want to or cut your losses, accept defeat and tell your youngster it is ok and that they won’t have to wear it!
I hate that the skirt is long- Girls, especially when wearing the school uniform may not like having a long skirt and boy will they complain about it. Older girls may choose to secretly pull up their skirt before school and you may never know about it. Remind your child that the skirt is a skirt and it is meant to be at a certain point. If you do catch your child with a pulled-up skirt consider getting them an even longer skirt to annoy them even more!
I want what the others are wearing- It doesn’t matter to your child if the thing their pal is wearing is an excessive price as they will want it for being cool. You would only have to look at a school yard to see how fickle children are and how all students tend to wear the same stuff! It is purely to be fashionable and part of the crowd. Though it may seem ridiculous to have to spend silly money on a jumper, your kid will wreck your head until you do so. However, try keeping excessively priced items for gifts instead of handing over goods for no reason.

Kids and their clothes will always have you battling against one another but wait till they are teenagers and get smarter with an answer for everything!
