It can be so difficult to think of lunchbox ideas for your little one without resorting to giving them the same things every day.

With the little ones going back to school, it also means most parents dreaded word - lunches.

Finding inspiration for school lunches can be challenging, especially if you have a fussy eater.

It can be frustrating to get creative with lunch for your little one only for it to be returned intact in the lunchbox after school. Kids are fickle - one day the lunch you give them may be their favourite lunch ever! The next week they could despise it.

Fear not, we have some easy and quick lunch box ideas for even your fussiest of eaters.

Home-made banana bread

This always goes down a treat with my little ones. Technically, it's full of sugar but it's homemade so it is allowed in the lunchboxes of some strict school guidelines. Make two batches on a Sunday and add a slice throughout the week.

FlapJacks

As mentioned, little ones can be fickle. They may get bored with banana bread by the end of a week. Try some easy to make flapjacks. I make really simple ones with coconut oil, porridge oats, honey, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds and desiccated coconut. Most schools have a no nut policy, so I like to leave them nut-free. Find this great recipe here.

Breadsticks and Hummus

Let’s face it, sandwiches can get a little bit boring. It can be a nice change to give your little one breadsticks and hummus instead. Or you could give them some carrots and hummus along with a wrap.

Wrap

Kids sized wraps are a favourite in our house. Some fillings we like to use are egg mayo, ham and cheese, smoked salmon and cream cheese, cheese and sweet pepper, chicken and salad.

Boiled Egg

A boiled egg halved can also be a great addition to any lunchbox -filling and full of protein.

Hummus Crisps and Guac

If your school allows it, hummus crisps and some home-made guacamole is a great addition any lunchbox, with guacamole packed full of good fats.
