With current guidelines and protective measures to keep the spread of the COVID-19 virus at a minimum, the performing arts industry is on its knees with thousands within the sector out of work.
It’s a harsh reality of life alongside COVID-19, but various outlets in the cultural and creative sectors have had to put their thinking caps on. Thinking of new ways to open safely and operate throughout the crisis isn't easy. But there is one Dublin circus where the show must go on.
Circus Vegas is back in action. They removed the sides of its big top tent, allowing families to watch their incredible performances from the comfort of their car.
It sounds brilliant, right?
Circus Vegas on Wheels is conveniently located in Leopardstown Racecourse, just off exit 15 on the M50. Everything about the experience is perfect for a special socially distant day out.
Bookings are taken by phone to minimise contact. Once you arrive on-site to take in all the thrills and spills of the big top, you will be given instructions and directed where to park.
The much-loved circus is taking the country by storm. Performances include breathtaking aerial displays and acrobats, dancers, and even some dare-devil stunts. These will have you picking your jaw up off the floor - your car floor that is.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the circus said: "Circus Vegas is a place where you leave your worries, cares and what you think is not possible behind just for a moment in time, suspend disbelief and enter the magical world of circus."
Right now, the circus is fully booked until mid-October. However, due to popular demand, they have extended their show dates until early November.
To book your tickets for a Halloween treat, call 083 308 3780 or 083 144 6166 during working hours, seven days a week. Tickets are €10 per person for the Dublin circus. Toilet facilities and a shop are available on site.
