What Easter treats do you get the child who doesn’t like chocolate?
Instead of filling the fridge with uneaten and unwanted chocolate eggs this year, take a look at our ideas for some non-chocolate Easter gift ideas.
Despite the shopping aisles convincing us with the shelves upon shelves of varying chocolatey delights that everyone will love an oversized egg this year, not everyone has their sights set on a sweet treat. And not every parent wishes to spend the next couple of weeks watching their children on a never-ending sugar high.
Easter-Themed Books
Books, including Easter-themed sticker and colouring books, puzzle books, and storybooks are a great addition to a small but welcome gift that has zero spoons of sugar. Kids are curious and will enjoy taking the Easter theme and creating their own crafts, following adventures, and solving puzzles. You can never go wrong with a book.
Easter Dress Up
Easter may not be a conventional time of year to dress up, but let’s step outside the box for a moment and consider what great fun it would be to dress up as an Easter chick or bunny with creative and entertaining costumes. You will rarely have to convince a three-year-old to dress up!
Mini-Games
Easter is one of our favourite party seasons as it usually (weather permitted) means we can head outside and play mini-games in the mild spring sunshine. Mini Easter games such as bean bag toss or knocking down tin cans can be easily manufactured to an Easter theme for great fun once the Easter egg hunt (with fillable and reusable hollow surprise eggs) is over.
A Garden Den
Kids and tents. There is something very special and magical about setting up a tent for the day. While pegs and a few bedsheets are notoriously the best way to make a fort, a garden den will always have a special place in our kids’ memories. With many den kits available online, we are sure you will find one that fits.
Easter Toys And Gift Sets
And if all else fails in the non-chocolate Easter gifts department, you can always try the toy route, which will likely be well received. Easter themed toys such as the Lego Easter sets are popular, as are Easter arts and crafts sets and baking sets. Dinosaur eggs and Tamagotchi’s may not be conventional, but hold a particular kind of retro entertainment for our kids.
However you decide to gift this Easter, remember to pick up a pair of bunny ears or two!
