The 'Playground GPS Ireland' app will guide you to the exact location of more than 650 outdoor playgrounds
I've lost count the number of times we've been to our local playgrounds. At one point I was sick of looking at the same old swing set and slide and I’m sure the kids were too. Have you ever found yourself bored of the same playground or play centre? Have you found yourself visiting family and need to get the kids out for an hour? Well let me introduce you to GPS Playground, a free app available on Android phones and it is absolutely genius. GPS Playground has a list as long as your arm of parks nearby to let the kids run wild and burn some of that never-ending energy.
Once installed it’s so simple to use. You can search by town or county and it will give you a list of playgrounds and play centres the kids can enjoy. You can even plan ahead for when you're visiting family or friends. Or maybe to stretch the legs during a long road trip.
With the GPS Playground app, you can find hundreds of playgrounds across Ireland. I found three awesome playgrounds last year thanks to this app and there's still more we have to explore less than a ten minutes’ drive from our house.
There is also an option to favourite playgrounds. So if something appealed to the kids I can favourite the spot for a future date so when we are looking for something to do we'd have plenty of options to choose from.
The website was down the last time I checked but the app has worked perfectly fine since. It is missing a few of the newer playgrounds built in the past year but we can't have it all can we? Why not give it a try and see how many playgrounds are local to you? And which ones you didn’t know even existed.
