Vomit is notorious for leaving a stinky smell for a very long time. However, you will be happy to know that there is an easy way to sort it out.
There is nothing more unpleasant than a tummy bug entering the house. It is hard enough trying to keep our little ones content whilst they are in the throes of a bug but along with the mountain of washing that is inevitable, it is difficult when you have a soggy smelly mattress to deal with also.
Vomit is notorious for leaving a stinky smell for a very long time. However, you will be happy to know that there is an easy way to sort it out.
- Soak up excess vomit with some flour.
- Once it has soaked up transfer to a bag (using a spoon or dustpan)
- Pour some soda water onto a kitchen towel or a sponge to help lift the stain.
- Next, mix some washing up liquid and water and gently blot the stained area.
- Mix together cold water and vinegar (1 part water and 3 parts vinegar).
- Wet a clean cloth with the solution and wipe the stain. The vinegar will neutralise the smell and also clean and disinfect the area.
- Leave to dry. Sprinkle over some baking soda if any smells linger and vacuum up after 20 mins.
