As a mum of four, I sometimes struggle to find suitable accommodation to meet our needs as a larger family - especially at a price that suits our budget. Staycations in Ireland can prove costly especially when you are looking for something a little different. 

Over the past couple of years, we have discovered some really unique places across Ireland but I think this one beats them all.

Nestled perfectly in the beautiful town of Cobh, you can now stay in a converted vintage London bus for as little as €80 a night. 

Known as the Lux Bus, the refurbished double decker is the perfect getaway pimped out with a fully equipped modern kitchen and living area including a bathroom, 6 beds, complimentary WiFi, a coffee maker for early morning risers and to top it off, self-service breakfast is also provided as part of your package. 

Added family features include children's toys and books, a highchair, travel cot, children's dinnerware and they have local babysitter recommendations if parents fancy themselves a quiet meal in one of the many restaurants located a short five-minute drive away. 

The one-of-a-kind Airbnb listing has received five stars from recent guests with one saying it was "a really unique and memorable experience".   

"It has everything you could possibly be looking for in a self-catering break. Very nicely located just outside the scenic coastal town of Cobh, which boasts a wide range of attractions. Perfect for couples and small families alike, trust me the children will love the experience and so will the grown-ups," they added.

While another guest praised the hosts who went out of their way to help them find their accommodation when they got lost en route with their young family in a nearby town.

She said: "They had a nice area with toys for the children and even plastic cups/plates too. Very family friendly, Laura set up the pack n' play and got out a high chair for our baby as well."

"It would be an amazing place to stay in if you didn't have kids either way. They even had eggs, milk, butter, and bread etc. for breakfast with a good tea/coffee selection which was awesome. All and all it was a great experience and they were great hosts, hope to come back one day when the kids are older!"

Sounds like the perfect family getaway to me, don't you think? I'd get booking fast though, as it's sure to be a sell out this summer.
