If you're looking for an easy way to make cookies, look no further. As long as you have these two ingredients in your cupboards, you will be able to whip these up in seconds.
According to the Daily Star, the cooking hack was discovered by food blogger Lorena Grater at Green Health Cooking blog. She was frustrated by the fact that any healthy cookie recipe she could find required many complicated ingredients.
She writes, "Why do most healthy cookies need sooo many ingredients? Why do healthy cookies take so long to prepare? *scream*"
So, she developed her own healthy cookie alternative using just almond flour and maple syrup, describing them as "melt-in-the-mouth" almond cookies. Sounds too good to be true? Well, the recipe also happens to be paleo, vegan and low-carb! Sign us up.
To create these perfect treats yourself, preheat the oven to 120 C. Then, simply mix together 2 cups almond flour to one cup of maple syrup until the mixture reaches a dough like consistency. Feel free to add more almond flour or maple syrup until it becomes like cookie dough.
Then, cover with cling film and freeze the mixture for fifteen minutes - this will make the dough easier to roll out.
Bake for fifteen to twenty minutes, depending on the thickness of your cookies. (View the full recipe here).
Lorena also mentions in her post that you can easily bring these cookies up a notch by dipping them in chocolate to create Chocolate Almond Cookies.
You could also try adding chocolate chips for a well-loved classic!
We can't cope. Will you be trying this recipe?
