Vegan living and eating is still having it’s moment. In fact, it’s having way more moments than many of us thought it would, if we are honest!
When you see big brands like Hellmans, Burger King and Denny’s changing direction and rolling out lots of delicious vegan versions of their well-known products, it might make one think that they are on to something.
These companies are of course research-driven and so will undoubtedly know for sure that the demand for vegan consumption is looking like it’s here to stay.
So is "vegan" still a dirty word? Say the word to a meat eater and watch them recoil in disgust. "Give me a steak any day!" they cry as they imagine that to be vegan must somehow involve living on a diet of gravel and having your shoes woven out of banana leaves.
But would they perhaps know there is a very good chance that they have been accidentally eating vegan foods for years? Maybe this list of vegan goodies below will surprise you too!
Calippo icepops: All hail the gorgeous sunnier weather of spring! There is nothing that says sunny days more than a freezer housing a box or two of Calippos. Also a favourite during those over-heated pregnancy moments!
Hobnobs: But not the chocolate ones, obviously!
Flying saucers: These have been my favourite find (in Tiger stores when they were open!). Not just because they are vegan, but for the nostalgia factor, too!
Flora: A firm staple in my parents fridge for years, they bought it due to its’ promises of lower cholesterol in their diet. Little did they know how vegan it was too!
Jacob’s Cream Crackers: Whip them into a sandwich with some flora and you have a fully vegan snack.
Oreos: Finding out these gorgeous biccies were vegan was actually the best day ever. Who knew?!
Ritz Crackers: Another throwback to snacks of our childhoods. Pair it with vegan cream cheese from Tesco, throw a few grapes into the mix and it’s a full-on 90s snack party, vegan-style.
Lotus Biscoff: The sauce, the mix, the biscuits! It’s all vegan! Woohoo!
Hunky Doreys Cheese & Onion Flavour: Best dipped in hummus if you ask me.
Love Hearts Sweets: Sweetly vegan.
Fry's Chocolate Cream: Another total mind-blower! I used to think that anything with the word "cream" in it must contain dairy but it isn’t so! Long live Fry's!
Hula Hoops Original and Salt & Vinegar Flavour: A lunchbox fave.
Pringles: Original, BBQ, Paprika, Smokey Bacon. Once you Vegan pop…
Fox’s Party Rings: Perfect for decorating cakes and for asking your best (vegan) friend to marry you!
