Summer parties are a great way to get your family and friends together to enjoy the weather. There are some things to keep in mind, though.
Summer is here and now is as good a time as any to have the party you’ve always wanted.
Having a summer party is so much fun but it also needs lots of planning so you can have the best party and that stays within your budget.
Here is everything you need to know about holding a good summer party.
Work out the guest list
Firstly, you need to invite people you like but also avoid the urge to invite too many guests and make it a party that is full of stress. It obviously depends on the size of your garden and the space you have in your home. You may have a gazebo to protect your guests from the rain and heaters are a great idea if you want to keep people outside in the evenings.
Don’t forget to talk to your neighbours about the party as they’ll respect your forwardness and if you like them, invite them too to avoid any noise complaints on the night! Ask that people RSVP so you can arrange food and drinks accordingly.
Decide if it is an adults-only or kid-friendly party
You need to decide if it is ok for people to bring their children and let them know. If you have kids yourself, it may suit you to have friends bring their children, but it could get messy too.
If it is an ‘adults only’ party, you need to make that clear to people and get your children cared for if possible.
Make a playlist
Who doesn’t love a bit of music? The right music can set off the right mood from the offset and keep everyone awake and lively.
Getting the right playlist together saves the added time of changing music and losing time to chat with silly music selections. Pick the right sound level so that it’s not too loud or too quiet.
Check out the drinks
Nothing says summer party like cocktails! Offering an exotic punch or summery cocktail is an ideal way to get everyone in the right mood upon arrival.
Add some umbrellas and paper straws for that added beauty and bits of fruit give it that tropical twist too.
Think of the ice and beers
No one likes a hot drink so make sure you have buckets with ice and cold water to keep the drinks cool. This is ideal for beer and stick the wine in the fridge.
Mixers can be left out as needed and make sure you stock up on ice! If you can’t make enough yourself, buy some in your local shop.
Make it a themed party and don’t forget the food
For a summer party, you could take advantage of the summer months by asking everyone to come summer-themed. If the weather is good, have a BBQ and salads - if you have someone who can take care of the food.
Some people hate getting caught with serving up burgers so perhaps, canapes will work better or lasagne from the oven. If you are feeling generous, get caterers in!
Have fun!
