Two of our favourite actors are joining forces (literally) in this new irreverent superhero action-comedy. Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer play childhood best friends who undergo a treatment that gives them ultimate superpowers. The pair, who attempt to be the world's newest superhero duo, team up together in order to do battle with the evil which is plaguing their city. This is one which parents and teens will love, for its completely goofy nature. The movie arrives on Netflix today.
Scoob! (Sky Cinema & NOW)
What could be better than seeing how our favourite crime-solving great dane on the big screen? In Scoob!, we find out how lifelong friends Scooby and Shaggy first met, as well as how the famous Mystery Inc. was created with Fred, Velma and Daphne. Scooby and the gang now face their biggest mystery yet: a plot to unleash the ghost dog Cerberus upon the world. Spooky and hilarious, perfect for this weekend.
Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! (Netflix)
A brand new sitcom for the older children in your household is this one starring Jamie Foxx. Yep, Hollywood actor Jamie Foxx. the storyline follows a single dad who must figure out the intricacies of fatherhood when his strong-minded teen daughter moves in with him. Expect plenty of physical gags and cheesy jokes - ones which your older kids and yourself will probably love. The series begins on April 14.
Secrets of the Whales (Disney+)
Celebrate Earth Day this year by tuning into some stunning National Geographic on Disney+. On April 22, join narrator Sigourney Weaver and executive producer James Cameron as they deep dive into the world of the five different species of whales, which took three years of filming to create.
Secrets of Sulpher Springs (Disney+)
It's all about secrets on Disney+ this month. If you and the kids like a creepy tale, Secrets of Sulpher Springs is just the ticket for you. The 11-episode TV series follows 12-year-old Griffin Campbell, whose family moves towns to take ownership of The Tremont, an abandoned hotel which is said to be haunted by the ghost of a mysterious girl...
The Mitchells vs. The Machines (Netflix)
And finally, the most eagerly-anticipated of the family titles this April is from the same creators of Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse and The LEGO Movie. The action-comedy adventure stars an ordinary family who find themselves in the middle of their biggest family challenge yet…saving the world from the robot apocalypse. No big deal, right? With a voice cast of Olivia Colman, Abbi Jacobson, Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph, Fred Armisen, Beck Bennett, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend, we cannot wait to see this on April 30.
