The people over at Movember 2020 are looking for dads with taches, beards, muttonchops, and full-blown bird's nests to get involved in their new campaign.
Movember's "Lockdown, Shave Down" kicks off this weekend, and here is how Irish dads across the island can get involved in the movement towards removing the stigma of men's mental health.
Movember has been an important month-long charity event which takes place every November for the past number of years. Now in its 18th inception, the aim this year is focussed on bringing everyone from all walks of life to come together for one virtual celebration of men's hair.
Mental health and suicide awareness has always been an important reason to take part in Movember, no matter how small your involvement, but this year the cause is more important than ever. As ever, much-needed funding for prostate and testicular cancers are also areas which will be provided support during the month.
This year, Movember is launching a "Lockdown, Shave Down" event, which kicks off on Friday, October 30. To get involved, here's what Irish dads will need to do:
- Grab a selfie of your pre-shaved face
- Then another of yourself mid-shave
- And one more, after you are all freshly shaved and baby-faced
- Post a grid or the images as a carousel on your social media
- And finally, remember to tag four friends with the hashtags #Movember #Shavedown
The aim of this year's campaign is to get the bearded world talking virtually, raising much-needed funds for men's charities.
We here at FFHQ are also doing our bit with Movember's "Lockdown, Shave Down" this year in a big way too. You can head over to our Instagram page this Friday for a takeover from barbershop owners and brothers, Sam and James, of Sam's Barbers in Dublin.
