Whether you've got a Netflix, Disney+ or Sky and NOW subscription, there's something for everyone to watch this May.
With the temperature *gradually* increasing this month, we've made a list of the newest family-friendly movies and TV shows this May that everyone can watch when you've got some downtime.
Here are our top picks for the month ahead. Happy viewing!
Star Wars: The Bad Batch (Disney+)
Are there any Star Wars fans in your household? Chances are there's at least one. Disney+ has released a brand new animation series this month, the first episode launched on May the Fourth AKA Star Wars Day. In honour of the day, Disney also launched a special short movie with Maggie Simpson entitled The Force Awakens From Its Nap.
Jungle Beat: The Movie (Netflix)
Based on the hit children's series, this Netflix movie sees a homesick alien crash-land his spaceship near the colourful African Jungle. His new animal friends Munki and Trunk need to get him back to his ship and teach him about friendship and fun before his Space-Conqueror father can take over the planet. Available from May 14 on Netflix.
Pip & Posy (Sky Kids & NOW)
A pre-school TV series you might already be familiar with is being added to Sky Kids and NOW. Based on illustrator Axel Scheffler and author Camilla Reid’s Nosy Crow-published book series, the series follows a mouse and rabbit whose lives revolve around a wonderful world of play. Stream from May 10.
High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 2 (Disney+)
East High’s favourite drama students return as they prepare to perform Beauty and the Beast for their Spring musical. The second season will include reimagined musical numbers from both the High School Musical movies and the stage production of Beauty and the Beast in addition to brand-new songs. Watch a new episode each week starting on May 14.
Dog Gone Trouble (Netflix)
The privileged life of a pampered dog named Trouble is turned upside-down when he gets lost and must learn to survive on the big-city streets. This sweet animated adventure features the voices of rapper Big Sean, Lucy Hale, Betty White and even Snoop Dogg.
Kidz Bop Live In Concert (Sky Kids & NOW)
Perfect for a family boogie or even as a nice little exercise break, it's the Kids Bop group who will be hosting a special concert live on Sky Kids and NOW this May. We'll follow them as they prepare for an epic live concert, singing covers of contemporary pop songs across five new episodes, which begins on May 28.
Cruella (Disney+ with Premier Access)
And finally, who doesn't love a baddie? Especially when it's a Disney baddie. Out of all of the movies and TV shows this May, this is one we're looking forward to the most. Emma Stone stars in the origin story of the one and only Cruella De Vil, whose humble beginnings saw her want to be an aspiring fashion designer - leading to her inevitable obsession with dalmations. Stream the movie with premier access (€21.99) on Disney+ from May 28.
