To celebrate National Parents Week 2019, Parentline have chosen the theme 'It's okay to ask for help.'

As you may know, we at Family Friendly HQ recently released insightful research about how families in Ireland are spending their time. The research revealed some surprising (and some not-so-surprising) results about the amount of quality time people are spending with their families.

For example, while 99% of people feel that family life is important, only 36% feel happy with the amount of quality time they currently spend with their family.

We also found that 41% of people do not have designated “me
time”, and only 43% of people feel that “me time” is essential.

This was a wake-up call for a lot of us and left us reflecting on how to best balance our work and family lives while making sure that we’re making enough time for ourselves, too.

Parenthood and family life can be difficult, and we all need a helping hand to get us through the tough and overwhelming times that being a parent brings.

That’s why we were delighted that Parentline chose the theme ‘It’s okay to ask for help’ to celebrate National Parents Week 2019.  Parentline is a helpline for parents – somewhere to pick up the phone and talk to a trained facilitator who will listen without judgement and in confidence to whatever it is you are going through. No problem is too big or too small – Parentline will offer support, information and guidance.

The helpline is open Monday to Thursday from 10 a.m. – 9
