8-year-old Corona di Viera, who was getting bullied over his name, wrote a letter to Tom asking if he and his wife were okay after their Coronavirus diagnosis.
When Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson were diagnosed with coronavirus last month, many people were concerned for their health - not least this little boy living in Australia, who is a massive Toy Story fan.
The eight-year-old boy, named Corona di Viera, has been getting bullied since the coronavirus broke out. In an interview with Nine News Queensland, he said he was taunted by classmates.
"Coronavirus... they just kept on saying that and I would get really mad," Corona said.
In the letter to Tom Hanks, the Toy Story fan explained his unique situation and wrote:
"I heard on the news you and your wife have caught the Coronavirus. Are you okay?"
Touched by the thoughtful letter, Tom wrote back to his new friend Corona.
"Your letter made me and my wife feel so wonderful!" Tom wrote, " You know, you are the only person I've ever known o have the name Corona."
Then, Tom revealed he had given Corona a thoughtful gift - one he could keep forever.
"I thought this typewriter would suit you. I had taken it to the Gold Coast, and now, it is back with you. Ask a grown-up how to works and use it to write me back. PS. you got a friend in me!"
Something tells us Corona won't be feeling so and about his name as he types on his very own Corona Standard typewriter, given to him by Tom Hanks himself.
