It’s not long til the kids go back to school and they’re not the only ones feeling blue.
While the summer can certainly be a struggle with all the non-stop juggling, it’s also a time when we spend more quality time as a family. Here are some ways to feel more positive about the fact that the party’s almost over and say goodbye to them back to school blues.

As Dr Seuss said, "Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened." One way to celebrate having such a fun summer is to go through all your photos and print off your favourites. It’s definitely something I’m putting on my to-do list! Once they’re printed you and the kids can put them into a photo album or frames and reminisce while you’re doing it.
Autumn’s On The Way!
Some years we dread the fact that cooler weather is on the way but considering the temperatures we’ve had this summer, I think most of us are looking forward to it. Of course, in addition to lower temperatures there are other things to look forward to in autumn; fall fashion, pumpkin spiced lattes, and Halloween. Your future self will thank you if you get a head start on costume planning!
The Routine
No, I’m not talking about Monica and Ross' iconic dance routine in 'Friends', I’m talking about getting back into a routine after the summer break. As much as we enjoy relaxing things over the holidays, it’s always good to get things back on track and for everyone to be more productive again. Your kids will see their friends every day, you can catch up with your mum friends at the school gate and if you’ve gained any free time back you can restart your hobbies. If you don’t currently have any hobbies, now’s the time to start some new ones! Join a fitness class, sign up to a walking group, put your name down for a book club or learn a new language or instrument; your kids aren’t the only ones that will be busy every day.
The Weekend
One way for the first few weeks to fly by is to plan some fun activities for the weekends. Just because the holidays are over doesn’t mean you have to stop enjoying yourselves. Book to go bowling, head off to the beach or take a trip to the zoo. Your little monkeys will go bananas when they hear what you have planned!
