Ireland's favourite strawberry farm has opened its doors this summer.
One of the very few fruit farms in Ireland that allows you to pick your own berries has opened its doors for the month of July.
Located in the Dublin mountains, Lambert's Fruit Farm grows everything from big juicy strawberries to raspberries, tayberries, blackcurrants and gooseberries.
The 'pick your own fruit' farm opens twice a week between 10 am - 1 pm, however, due to large numbers of pickers, fruit can be gone within the hour. For this reason, it is advised to arrive early to avoid disappointment.
Last year, the popular farm regularly updated their Facebook page with dates and times of upcoming picking sessions, but they now use a phone service.
According to the latest voicemail recording, the next three-hour fruit picking session will take place on Tuesday, July 9th and Saturday, July 13th between 10 am - 1 pm.
Freshly picked strawberries are priced at €7 a kilogram, other fruits prices vary.
The farm only accepts cash payments for berries, they do not have an atm or card machine.
Lambert's advise all attendees to bring a bucket or a container of some sort to bring home your freshly picked berries, however, they provide large blue buckets to pick into.
While there is free safe parking available on the farm, those visiting should be aware that Lambert's Fruit Farm is located on a steep hill. For this reason, a baby carrier or sling for babies and young toddlers is advised.
A summers morning picking fruit at Lambert's is a yearly tradition for many with 99% of the reviews on their Facebook page recommending the farm.
One social media user said: "The quality of fresh fruit and the family friendly atmosphere. There is a lovely feeling picking your own fruit and making jams."
While another wrote: "An abundance of fresh juicy, delicious fruit & beautiful scenery. A fun family day out!"
Another said: "Absolutely brilliant experience for our kids. Plenty strawberries, easy to get here. Could be a little cheaper per kilogram but worth to go. Thanks."
