While we all consider our children to be a genius in their own special way, there are a few things that classify them as gifted.
All children excel in different ways. Whether it’s through sports, arts or school – your little one will eventually find one... or two or three... things that they will become really passionate about.
For some, it can happen fairly early on in life; for others, it can take a bit of time before they find it.
But as in all things, there will always be one person who hits the ball out of the park fairly early on (like Stevie Wonder who mastered the skill of music by the age of 12 or Pablo Picasso who was admitted to Barcelona's Llotja School of Fine Arts at just 14).
And while we all consider our children to be a genius in their own special way, there are a few things that classify them as gifted.
According to Mensa, these are some of the signs you have a child genius on your hands:
- An unusual memory
- Passing intellectual milestones early
- Reading early
- In-depth knowledge of certain subjects
- Intolerance of other children
- Loves to talk
- Learns easily
- Asks questions all the time
- Has a developed sense of humour
- Likes to be in control
- Makes up additional rules for games
