This homemade heat pad is a serious gamechanger.
Parenting can be achy work for so many different reasons. Why not try our super easy homemade heat pad? It's only got two ingredients and you probably have them in the house already. It's also got the smug factor because you can finally put those odd socks to good use. Seriously, what IS it about odd socks?
Here's everything you need to know to create this cheap and cheerful heat pad in your own home.
You will need:
- Two socks
- Rice
- Essential oil
How to make your own heat pad:
-
Find an old sock.
Ideally, use a thick fluffy sock as this will most likely hold the rice better. Plus, this makes the whole process much cosier.
-
Place the sock into a glass.
Place the sock into a glass and turn it slightly inside-out to that it covers the edges of the glass.
-
Fill it with rice and add essential oil.
Fill it with rice and add 2-3 drops of lavender essential oil.
-
Tie the sock and place it inside another sock.
Tie the sock at the top to avoid any spillages and place it inside another sock.
-
Heat for 1-2 minutes in the microwave.
The rice will heat within the sock and the lavender essential oil will create a lovely relaxing scent.
